First, there was this one. A big (and very old) beauty which had broken into eight pieces:

So I scanned the pieces separately, and re-assembled them:

This one was mounted on a slightly convex metal frame, and had deteriorated and discoloured severely over the years:

Voila!

Actually, it's not quite as spectacular as it looks. I only had to restore her face, and "borrowed" her veil and dress from another photo that the customer supplied. Still, I'm pretty darn happy with the result. Here's a close-up of the facial reconstruction:

No matter what else I do, I love this work most of all. Nothing beats bringing history back from the brink.
